Angels are on Assignment in Your Fiery Trial

2/7/2016

Have you ever felt alone or abandoned by God in a desperate situation? It is easy to feel that way when seemingly everyone else abandons you. But know that you are not alone and God uses trials, tribulations, afflictions and persecutions in your life as a container whereby fire can be introduced to your life. When you collaborate with God you can use the heat from the trial along with hammer of God's word to form your character (click here for Forged in the Crucible called Character).

God says in Hebrews 13:5 that He would never leave us nor forsake us, therefore, we need not fear what man nor any other situation can do to us. Why? Because God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness through Christ Jesus our Lord. He's given us access to hope and faith (click here for Faith & Hope; Twins from the Same Family). He has also assigned every person special heavenly messengers called angels to serve, help and fight for us (Hebrews 1:14).

The question is, how do angels do this?  What does the scripture reveal?

The Angel of the Lord or angels:
  • Deliver Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego from the fiery furnace in Daniel 3.
  • Gave life direction to Hagar after she fled into the wilderness. So she returned to Abram and Sarai in Genesis 16.
  • Stopped Abraham from offering his son Isaac and provided a replacement sacrifice. Genesis 22
  • Led Eleazar, Abraham's servant, directly to Isaac's future wife Rebekah in Genesis 24.
  • Wrestled with Jacob until he was positioned to receive a new name; Israel, which means "God prevails." That's quite a change from what Jacob meant; "deceiver." Genesis 31.
  • Delivered Israel from all evil in Genesis 48.
  • Led the nation of Israel out of bondage into the Promised Land. Exodus 3.
  • Protected Israel from Balaam's curse and in fact, turned the curse into a blessing. Numbers 22
  • Helped Gideon, the least of his family, to miraculously deliver Israel in Judges 6.
  • Brought correction to King David through judgment on Jerusalem until David repented in 2 Samuel 24.
  • Fed the prophet Elijah when Jezebel sought to kill him. 1 Kings 19:5
  • Speaks to the prophet Gad who gives King David direction about building a house for God in 1 Chronicles 21.
  • Delivers Israel in response to King Hezekiah's prayer by destroying 185,000 Assyrian troops in Isaiah 36-37 and 2 Chronicles 32.
  • Encamps around those who fear God and protects them. Psalm 34:7
  • Pursues and sets traps for the enemy of the righteous. Psalm 35
  • Shut the mouths of lions when Daniel was unjustly thrown into the lions den in Daniel 6.
  • Announced the birth of John the Baptist to his father in Luke 1.
  • Delivered a message to Mary and gave direction to Joseph in Matthew 1 and Luke 1.
  • Served and helped Jesus after his fast and temptation in Mathew 4.
  • Healing people in at the pool of Siloam in John 5.
  • Are involved in the harvest and salvation of people in Matthew 13.
  • Separates the wicked from the just in Matthew 13 as well.
  • Are organized into legions and armies in Matthew 26.
  • Opened the prison doors for Peter in response to the prayers of the saints in Acts 5.
  • Spoke to a Cornelius thereby making a way for Peter to present the gospel of the kingdom to the Gentiles in Acts 10.
  • Struck down Herod when he tried to take God's glory in Acts 12.
  • Comforted and delivered Paul and those shipwrecked with him in Acts 27.
  • Does a ton of work in the book of Revelation.
  • Helped us in evangelism during our first missionary trip to the Philippines in 1989. That's an amazing story.
  • Since then we've seen many more examples where angels have protected our lives and played a role in miracles too.

So the bottom line is, you are not alone and God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). God has not changed. He is the same today, yesterday and forever (Hebrews 13:8). God delivered them and He will deliver you.

Remember, we walk by faith and not by sight. You are not alone no matter how you feel. You can trust that these special messengers are there with you cooperating with  God's word and His destiny for your life. I pray God give you wisdom and the discipline to apply His word to your life thereby releasing angels to work without restriction in your life.

That's right, I said without restriction. You can restrain them through not believing the word of the Lord. When you fully embrace God's word and its application in your life you give His servants, these messengers, the angels unrestricted access to work upon your behalf for His glory and our destiny.

I pray that you'd loose the angels to fully work upon your behalf this day and that you would let the seed of hope yield faith for your deliverance this day.

I encountered angels in Israel. Great stories about two encounters I will never forget. This last six months or so - I've wondered about them as a result of a false prophetic word and work given to me. The Lord spoke clearly to me in Romans 8 "neither life nor death nor angels..." which broke me through condemnation. I've been reticent regarding them since, questioning - while understanding our enemy, Satan, can come disguised as "an angel of light". This article was helpful; thank you for sharing and - reminding me not to draw back because of others errors in judgment regarding angels. I need to remember the other words about angels Charlene and a young Christian I mentored saw/spoke in my life and rejoice in their abiding presence. God bless you Tim!

Thanks for sharing and your kind words. Praying you hit the mark for the unique assignment Christ has given you that He might be glorified as your destiny is fulfilled.

I am encouraged by reading this [Angels on Assignment]. And, am reminded of Proverbs 25:2 [It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.] Thank you for doing the searching and sharing, and for the encouragement!
