Our highest law enforcement official, head of the Justice Department, was just found in contempt of congress. It is the first time in history that Congress has found a sitting US Attorney General in contempt (click for House Holds Eric Holder in Contempt). Why? Lying! The condition of America continues to deteriorate as lying has become the norm.
It is just one more instance of the growing culture that tolerates and encourages lies within government from the federal level down to city government. Why the Washington State Supreme Court even ruled in 2007 that lying in politics was allowed (click for State's highest court backs lying in politics). Leaders like this releases a spirit of lawlessness across the land.
Let me be clear, it did not start with this administration. It has been growing ever since our nation began turning our back on God with the rejection of the ten commandments, prayer, the bible etc. Our economic decline as a nation remarkably parallels our moral decline. This is a problem that spans every area of society. It is the mystery of lawlessness.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-10
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. NKJV
Lawlessness comes from the working of Satan with all unrighteous deception. It manifests through people who choose to believe the father of lies. Those that are deceived become even more deceived because they did not receive the love of the truth.
A dilemma is defined as a situation requiring a choice between unequally desirable alternatives. It is a difficult and perplexing problem.
I am talking about the dilemma between having compassion for the individual holding office verses the consequences of that office making decisions that invite harsh consequences for the people.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 exhorts us to pray for all men especially kings and those who are in authority. The question is, how do you pray?
How do you pray for one who does not know Jesus and who makes decisions that appear to hurt our nation or your state? For example, in 1 Chronicles 21 King David, a good king, sinned, made a mistake, missed the mark and numbered the people. Due to his error 70,000 people died. In 1 Kings 14 and 15 we see numerous instances where the "king" made decisions that "made Israel sin" and it provoked God to anger.
There are certain decisions that when executed by a people or by law will cause the land to vomit the people out of the land (Leviticus 18 & 20). There are spiritual laws just like the law of gravity. You don't have to do anything to make gravity work, it just does because it is a law of the universe. It just works. There are spiritual laws that work like that and the Bible is God's tool to help educate us as to how the universe works.
Through the Bible we learn that God does not desire anyone to perish. He wants all to come to the saving knowledge of Christ, repent and receive the wonderful, awesome, eternal life with Him so that we might have fellowship one with another. Hell was made for the angels who sinned and left their first domain. It was not made for man.
So how do you pray for a person who is holding a political office yet who does not know the Lord and makes decisions that are contrary to God's word which would result in dangerous consequences?
Email from Bishop Thomas 6-26-2012: Dear Dad Tim, Mum Brenda, WMI&KLI prayer partners, Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.... I went to Busia to launch our North-Western Theological seminary branch. God already had prepared 27 students who enrolled for the studies & we are trusting God to bring more for His kingdom to be increased in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I Thank you so much for your prayer support! May the Lord God bless you, your families & your ministry.
I have attached the pictures,I would like to request you to continue praying for us & the ministry here in Kenya. I see in my spiritual eyes that our loving Lord God is going to do great things through our ministry of which will give Him glory. I introduced our ORT prayer network to the congregation ..... and officially open another prayer centre in that city so please pray for that issue ....
Bishop Thomas Okinyi our CONECTer in Kenya began working with us in 2008. He is an apostolic gift that has overseen Operation Rolling Thunder as well as the establishment of a number of churches (6 at last count) and if I am not mistaken, this makes the 20th prayer center launched with the ORT strategy.
Let's rejoice with him, the Church in Busia and the angels in heaven for every single person, church or church in a city who utilizes Operation Rolling Thunder is contributing to the building of the eternal house of prayer for all nations (Isa. 56:7. For more pictures click read more below.
'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
Leadership Principle required for Effective Teamwork
Successful communication requires an acknowlegment of receipt. If there is no acknowledgement you cannot be sure communication occured. For example. In Daniel 10:12-14 the prophet Daniel did not know if he got through to God because he heard no answer for 21 days.
Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come." NKJV
How many times have you emailed or called someone and recieved no reply? If someone speaks, emails, gives you a phone call, sends you a letter etc. the sender does not know if communicion occurs UNTIL you acknowledge it. In the Navy, "aye aye sir" was the simple term we used to communicate message recieved, assignment understood and I would comlply with the directive.
Leaders, you cannot hold your team accountable and improve the effeciency of your teamwork until you know they have recieved communication and understood it. This is where communication protocols can help. In the military we used terms of "over" and "out" to help accomplish this. In the corporate world we had standards set saying that we would respond to any form of communiation (email, phone) within 24 or 48 hours depending upon the company and the customer. The bigger the team or organization, the more useful this kind kind of discipline will be in serving your team.
Leader, it is your responsibility to enforce. Team, for the sake of the vision, assignment or mission, it is important that you practice the protocols. Anyone who doe not, affects the effeciency and efforts of the whole team. Leaders, you cannot hold your team accountable and improve he effeciency of your teamwork until you know they have recieved communication and understood it.
Eccesiasties 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might....
I received and email from Charlene yesterday. She is a minister who had allied with us in our League. It is a powerful testimony that involves an example of a false church, the salvation of a racist and reconciliation. The love of Christ delivered a person from a the stronghold of her mind worse than the bars of the prison they were in. Here is Charlene's testimony.
Yesterday a team of 4, all non white, ministered in prison. At the end of service one of the white inmates sat crying in the back. She told a story about how everyone hated her and she had hated most people because she was a racist. She grew up in a town and was taught that if anyone was not like you, you were to hate them - even in the church she grew up in. When she walked into the service and saw blacks, Asians, and Mexican, she hated us and wanted to leave. She said several group were out to get her because of her views.
Ken, daughter Susan, Tim & Brenda
On our 25th wedding anniversary we were privileged to dine with Ken and Susan; a father and his daughter. As we prepared to eat dinner we shared that we prayed to the Lord and asked if there was anything we could pray for them. We found out that Ken had recently broken some ribs and was in great pain and also required a cane.
We prayed and God healed. Ken's health improved quickly and through the course of our time we had the opportunity to share about many things. Long story short, Ken's relationship with the Lord has been restored, the chiropractor testified how remarkable and quick his healing was and Ken is just on fire with the love of Christ.
He's been sharing Christ's love with many at work and beyond. A couple of days ago Ken sent me an email asking for prayer for a friend. I asked his permission to share with you my reply as I think it applies to everyone because Jesus sent us all to minister. Here it is;
I met David Wallace in Spokane in 2010 through an Operation Rolling Thunder Kick Off. David at one time worked with Dr. Martin Luther King in the mid-60's and attended the same seminary as Jesse Jackson. He is a 7th Day Adventist Elder today. As I understand, due to the excesses that followed in the Civil Rights Movement following Dr. King's assassination he withdrew from engaging society.
Through the ORT Kick Off David caught a vision for how the Church could impact the 7 spheres of society through prayer and strategic action. Old passions and vision was stirred and since then he has been a marvelous example of how one man can put faith in action and impact their city through service. The council he is on has been interacting with the mayor, city council, state representatives, the police department, school systems and more. This morning he shared an email with a friend of his which I asked permission to share what he wrote. He provides a great explanation as to what they are doing and the corresponding results. I pray that you will catch a vision for your community as well.
I have often heard this statement made in schools, public gatherings and even in some churches. "Let's take a moment for silent prayer." I marvel because "silent prayer" is an oxymoron. An oxymoron is a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect. Silent and prayer are contradictory.
Ecclesiastes 3 teaches us that there is a time and place for everything. There is a time for war, there is a time for peace, there is a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing and there is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. There are times when we should even be silent before the Lord.
Be silent in the presence of the Lord God; For the day of the Lord is at hand, For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests.
Out of all of scripture there is only 30 minutes of silence recorded in heaven. The rest of the time there is lots of loud prayer, praise and worship.
When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
Prayer is communication with our Lord. Silence is silent. (Brilliant deduction don't you think?) It communicates................... NOTHING. Silent prayer is a contradictory statement. It is a term made up by people who make statements like this. I will "lead from behind, make haste slowly or this is cruel kindness."
Jesus when teaching on how to pray said in Luke 11:2 "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
So, "I'm just saying;" when you pray, don't be silent!
In the Shepherds Rod 2012 on page 124 Bobby Conner saw a vision which he titled God's Love Will Rain Down. It says:
In a vision, I saw terrible storm clouds gathering across the earth and angry bolts of lightning striking the earth with rage and unrest. The Lord said to me, "watch what I am about to do in the midst of the storm."
I was shown a huge, glowing silver cloud forming in the heavens. However, it did not feel like a dangerous threatening storm. There was a sound like thunder, but not like normal, and I saw flashes of lightning. Then the heavens began to rain down holy fire. I watched as people began to run to the falling fire, rejoicing; jubilation was everywhere.
I said,"Lord, what is this heavenly fire?' He said, "My love." End of quote from Shepherds Rod 2012.
This marks the 7th year since God gave me the strategy Operation Rolling Thunder (ORT) to Steward. It has grown as kingdom minded leaders and CONECTers (prayer leaders and mobilizers) from around the world have used
ORT to mobilize churches in their community to invite Christ's abiding presence. The scripture teaches us that God is a consuming fire and God is love.
This is why we see so many salvations, healings, and things like crime decrease when churches follow the strategy. As God's people storm the heavens, God responds with a storm love on the earth. Click here to learn how you can invite a storm of God's love to your city.
