![]() Our friends from Hawaii, John & Linda Keough, the directors of the healing rooms in Hawaii visited us a couple of days ago and shared an amazing insight they gleaned from Josh Mills concerning taking God's name in vain. Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Vain comes from a Hebrew word that means evil, vain, false or a lie. The question is, what was God's name revealed at during that time period? Exodus 3:14 "And God said to Moses , “I AM WHO I AM .” And He said , “ Thus you shall say to the children of Israel , ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” Think about this! God's name was revealed as "I AM." The Hebrew word translated as name teaches us that the name refers to the mark or memorial of the name, the character, nature or authority of that name. For example: Exodus 15:26 “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight , give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes , I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians . For I am the LORD who heals you.” Last Tuesday was the first meeting of the local church we are planting in the greater Renton/Kent area. We are so blessed to have John and Linda Keough (founders of the Healing Rooms Honolulu) with us and they ministered prophetically at the end of our meeting. Susan reported a powerful encounter she had with the Lord that resulted in her healing. In the past week she had ended up in the emergency room seeking assistance as her symptoms led her to believe that her pace maker was failing. Here are a few excerpts from her testimony.
" Last night I was at KLI’s September 4th 2012 start up question and answer session, when an extra-ordinary encounter began to take place! It was during worship. As we entered into His gates with thanksgiving, I felt a door open in heaven leading to His temple (His courts) where the glory is. Revelations 15:8 “And the temple (in heaven) was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power . . . “ during the worship time at the KLI meeting, I saw movement, like a ripple in the atmosphere in front of me. An angel then materialized in that spot, stepped forward, turned and sat down by my right side. He put his right hand on my shoulder and then moved it to the exact area on my chest that the intense pressure was emanating from... When they (Keoughs) got to me, , just touched my forehead with his finger and the Kabod or weight of God’s glory increased to a greater level upon my physical body. Soon I couldn’t stay in my chair. I had to get to the lowest point, the floor. As I was laying there on the floor under the weight of the glory of God, after speaking praises into the glory for my healing, I began to physically feel my chest cavity enlarging and my lungs expanding. I had breath like I have never had before. I could breath deeper than I have ever been able to in the past, especially in this last month when the incidents of severe chest pressure began. Last night, that pressure was completely lifted! ![]() Have you ever suffered defeat and disappointment? Who hasn't? I'd like to share a powerful scripture with you that is loaded with hope. 2 Corinthians 4:7-14 says: "7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed — 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death is working in us, but life in you. 13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, 14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you."NKJV Have you ever been:
Forgive - Forget & Press On This morning the Lord gave and Brenda a word of restoration and hope Christ the King Shine Church. We took a look at some of the great leaders in history (Washington, Lincoln, Churchill and Jesus) and saw how rejection, defeat and failure forged their character such that they were prepared to be God's answer for the nations. Washington teaches us a powerful lesson in Valley Forge. He retreated there on the verge of total defeat and failure. It was in the midst of his darkest hour than he retreated, rested, restored, re-trained, re-supplied, reformed, and then redeployed. The key to start that process is to forgive, forget and press on. Thankfully God sent Jesus with an anointing to comfort, console, heal, bind up broken hearts and to equip those who would be repairers of the breach and restorer of cities to dwell in. He has given us the "oil of joy" (healing ointment) for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (that dark cloud of depression that descends upon you). The doctor took a look at my xray and said "you began spraining your ankle 14 years ago. It looks like you have the ankle of an 80 year old woman. You won't run again." He was spot on! I did begin spraining my ankle 14 years before as I played football and basketball. In fact, my ankles were so bad I would sometimes even use crutches during the week and tape my ankles up to play on Friday night or that weekend. I had abused my body and I was now suffering the consequences. However, I had become a Christian and knew the Bible taught that Jesus heals. I had a choice to make. Would I believe the doctor or would I believe the Word of God? The bible says; 1 Peter 2:24 - who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed. NKJV I chose to believe what God said. More than 26 years later on July 11, 2012, I jogged 10K. That does not mean I did not experience some challenges! I experienced some truly discouraging ones a time or two. Would you like to know what I learned? ![]() I received and email from Charlene yesterday. She is a minister who had allied with us in our League. It is a powerful testimony that involves an example of a false church, the salvation of a racist and reconciliation. The love of Christ delivered a person from a the stronghold of her mind worse than the bars of the prison they were in. Here is Charlene's testimony. Yesterday a team of 4, all non white, ministered in prison. At the end of service one of the white inmates sat crying in the back. She told a story about how everyone hated her and she had hated most people because she was a racist. She grew up in a town and was taught that if anyone was not like you, you were to hate them - even in the church she grew up in. When she walked into the service and saw blacks, Asians, and Mexican, she hated us and wanted to leave. She said several group were out to get her because of her views. ![]() Ken, daughter Susan, Tim & Brenda On our 25th wedding anniversary we were privileged to dine with Ken and Susan; a father and his daughter. As we prepared to eat dinner we shared that we prayed to the Lord and asked if there was anything we could pray for them. We found out that Ken had recently broken some ribs and was in great pain and also required a cane. We prayed and God healed. Ken's health improved quickly and through the course of our time we had the opportunity to share about many things. Long story short, Ken's relationship with the Lord has been restored, the chiropractor testified how remarkable and quick his healing was and Ken is just on fire with the love of Christ. He's been sharing Christ's love with many at work and beyond. A couple of days ago Ken sent me an email asking for prayer for a friend. I asked his permission to share with you my reply as I think it applies to everyone because Jesus sent us all to minister. Here it is; |
