Over the years I've marveled how often Hollywood comes out with a movie that has a title and a theme that speaks to the season that we are in. It's happened again with Star Trek's Into the Darkness.
Currently our nation is the weakest we've been in this modern era. We have the most debt we've ever had, we have scandal after scandal being exposed. We have an administration who is undermining the constitution with practices that seem more fit for a socialist or even communist form of government. Life, family, marriage, etc. is all under attack and.... the list goes on. We've entered into one of the darkest chapters of our nations history. How did we get here? Proverbs 20:20 provides perfect insight.
Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.
One of the first steps taken towards this present darkness were taken in the 60s during the sexual revolution. It began with dishonoring the parents. Rebellion was in the wind and we are now experiencing the maturation of those decisions in this generation.
We are in deep, deep darkness. Good is called evil and evil good. On one hand I hate this situation and on the other hand I am truly excited. The stage is set for a great awakening.
This will be the most important election in history to date. At stake is the institution of marriage defined by God and NOT civil government is trying to be overturned by a small minority (homosexual, bisexual, etc) who seek to justify perverted sexual behavior by changing the definition of marriage. My friends the family is at the core of society. If the family breaks down society will break down. When laws are passed that violate God's word these laws and policies invite eternal laws to go to work. Laws which will end up causing the land to ultimately cause a people to lose their nation (see Leviticus 18).
There are also issues of life, truth, debt, and more laws which violate God's word. All of these things invite judgment which harm a people and their land.
Sadly Many Called Christians Act Like They Don't Have a Conscience
We all espouse vote according to your conscience. Sadly it is clear that many in Christendom act like they don't have a conscience or they are ignorant. That should not surprise us as 1 Timothy 4:1-3 says "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron," NKJV
How do I vote and use the privilege afforded to me in my nation? How do I use my influence? How do I make decisions? Well I can tell you this I don't care about a candidate's color, race, party or any other external issue as much as I care about what the Bible says. I vote the Bible.

Here are some of the core issues and what the Bible teaches.
In war a wise general chooses the land they fight upon. It is an important factor in developing a strategy. Sometimes the natural geography provides for a natural defense or provides them the high ground. If the land is not suitable then the general moves their troops or changes the landscape to make it suitable by digging trenches or building mounds of earth called bulwarks. There is a battle for truth today. In Washington State the traditional role of marriage is under attack. (Protect Marriage Washington)
If the battle is for truth then language is important. Antichrist forces have launched a campaign to capture the hearts and minds of people and this battle has been well underway for over 40+ years. They've sought to change the lay of the land to create a battle field upon which they desire to fight this spiritual war by changing the language to introduce subtle confusion.
Scott Lively said in an article hosted on www.DefendtheFamily.com that "He who defines the terms controls the debate -- and by extension, public opinion."
