![]() Last week I received a call from my brother-in-law. He received a call from the doctor telling him to get to the hospital immediately. He had a tear in his stomach (ulcer) that needed to be operated on right now. He called and we prayed in accordance with Psalm 103:2-5, Psalm 107:19-20 and I Peter 2:24. The ulcer was the result of taking an over the counter pain reliever for 3 years because his knees hurt. He arrived and the doctor reiterated that he needed surgery right away. He returned 10 minutes later to say he changed his mind. Apparently upon further review something hand changed. In the course of a few days he improved dramatically and they released him Saturday. I'll let Ed tell you in his own words what the doctor said. ...... Each time they took a sample I would pray "a good report Lord!" Friday afternoon the ER doctor came in ask me if I had any pain. No pain I said. He pressed around on my stomach. He said we are going to let you eat a liquid diet. If that works out okay you can go home on Saturday. Praise the Lord! I ate meals on Friday afternoon and night plus Saturday morning. No pain during or after eating. Saturday early afternoon the doctors associate came to see me. He asked if I was still pain free. I said yes. Okay we will go ahead and discharge you.
Praise the Lord. Before he left my room he said it was very rare to treat my condition without surgery. I said "a whole lot of prayer went into this result!" An interesting side note is that my knees have had no pain since God healed me. A case of collateral healing I suppose you could say. One of the side effects of my condition was I could not sleep laying flat. If I did I would wake up with acid in my throat and sometimes in my lungs. Last night was the first time in a lot of months I did not sleep with a bunch of pillows keeping me at a 45 degree angle. Thank you my Lord and Savior.
