![]() 1Church1Day is much more than a powerful, proven and effective mobilization strategy whose name sums up a major part of the strategy wherein we establish 24/7 prayer in a community by recruiting one church to take one day each month. If churches in a community, county or state cooperate it can be accomplished quickly. It is a simple effective strategy that empowers a Church in a city made up of many local congregations to occupy the mountain of the Lord's house of prayer 24/7/365 (Isa. 56:7, Isa. 2:2) while gathering the elders of the city to sit in the gates. This is accomplished by forming 12 basic councils representing the 7 spheres of society and the five fold ministry. The 1Church1Day strategy is also known as Operation Rolling Thunder or ORT. ORT has been used by leaders in over 36 nations since 2005 with remarkable, reproducible, supernatural results that point to real transformation in communities around the world. In 2014 ORT got a new name; 1Church1Day. The name is much more than a play on words with regards to the simple strategy but it speaks to two powerful end time truths and that is:
Every time someone speaks of 1Church1Day or they participate in their day of prayer or serve on a council as part of the 1Church1Day strategy they are prophetically proclaiming that the Church is to become one so as to hasten the Day of the Lord. Let me share with you the scriptural basis. ![]() One Church In John 17:20-23 Jesus said " I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. NKJV In scripture the Church is also likened unto an army who is connected like one body in Ezekiel 37. We know from Psalm 133, Mathew 18:18 and Leviticus 26:8 that there is tremendous power in unity and agreement. I learned during my career in the Navy that "armies exist to project power to enforce the will of the government they represent." That is why Jesus taught us to pray that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven and that His house was called to be a house of prayer. The Lord really liked the expression of the house of prayer that David built in Zion. It is called the Tabernacle of David and in Acts 15:16 the Lord said through the apostle James that in the last days God would restore that. What was unique about David's tabernacle is that:
The Day of the Lord = One Day Joel 2 describes a trumpet blast that comes out of Zion (think restoration of the tabernacle of David) because the day of the Lord is coming and it is a day of darkness and gloominess. It reminds me of what Jesus describes the times would be like before His return in Matthew 24. It is a very wicked time; a dark time. In this context let me highlight a few excerpts: Joel 2:2-7 " A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even for many successive generations. A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns;.... Like a strong people set in battle array.... every one marches in formation, And they do not break ranks. Joel 2:11 The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it? NKJV So there is an army that God mobilizes for the day of the Lord. It is the same people spoken of in 2 Peter 3:10 which the Bible says can hasten the coming of the day of the Lord. 2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? NKJV 1Church1Day = One Church for One Day 1Church1Day is a prophetic proclamation calling for the Church, made up of many local congregations, ministries and parts, in different locals, to connect together as one, even as Jesus prayed, so that we might hasten the day of our Lord's return.
