![]() Pentecost was celebrated May 14-15 in Judaism (the real dates for Pentecost) and this Sunday in Christendom! It known as the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Harvest. It marks the birth of the Church with an outpouring in which tongues was one of the supernatural manifestations. May 19 also marks the end of Phase I for the Operation Rolling Thunder strategy. One of the things ORT does is to facilitate 24/7 prayer in a city. In Acts 1:14 we find the 120 praying in "one healed passion" precipitated the outpouring of the Holy Spirit which was marked by a mighty wind, tongues of fire and a supernatural prayer language. The hallmark of Pentecost was a passion, a thirst and a hunger for God's presence. As Christians join together with us in this strategy in one heated passion we can expect to see God move powerfully in their city to. Let us return this Pentecost to our first love.... With one heated passion. For a general overview of Pentecost click here.

Thanks for the reminder. Our churches seldom even mention it anymore.

Jews also celebrate Pentecost, but not for the same reason as Christians. The celebration by Jews of Pentecost is to observe God giving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai 50 days after the Exodus. The Pentecost in Jewish tradition takes place 50 days after Passover Comments are closed.
