![]() The Lightnings of God & Prayer Pentecost is one of three feasts of the Lord where all of Israel were to celebrate. It is also known as the Feast of Weeks and occurs 50 days after Passover. and part of its celebration included worshiping the Lord with freewill offerings and the first harvest of the sheaves. It marked the end of the grain harvest. It was also an occasion for covenant renewal. For about 1500 years this festival served as a prophetic act proclaiming what was to come which was recorded in Acts 2 with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It was part of the fulfillment of: Acts 2:16-21 - But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.' What precipitated this outpouring? Acts 1:14 - These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication....Why did I say "partial fulfillment?" The initial outpouring occurred and a harvest of souls came in. It is because Matthew 3:12 and 13:30 illustrate that at the end of the harvest the tares and chaff will be gathered together and burned even as the grain is gathered into the barn.
It is the Time of a Harvest of Harvesters I sincerely believe along with others (ie. Paul Keith Davis - The Brides End-Time Harvest Anointing click here) that we are on the cusp of a great in gathering but, it is just a harvest of harvesters. We've got to prepare the nets to receive a harvest. In Luke 5:4 Jesus says "launch out into the deep and let your nets down..." Keys to Preparing the Nets for Harvest One of the keys to preparing our nets for harvest is intimacy with our Lord. Psalm 42:7 - Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. One of King David's keys was on going continual 24/7 prayer which was sustained by teams. That my friends is corporate prayer, praise and worship. We see a similar kind of expression in Acts 1:14 where we find them "praying in one accord" continually until the outpouring which led to the first harvest of 3000 souls. Continual Prayer, Praise and Worship Creates a Throne Peter refers to David's reference in Acts 2:34 to Psalm 110. Psalm 110:1-2 The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Zion is the place in the City of David where 24/7 prayer, praise and worship occurred. Psalm 22:3 says "But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. NKJV Strongs Concordance says the word enthroned means to "sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry." On going continual prayer praise and worship seats the courtroom of heaven. It seats the King of Kings and Lord of Lords whom all judgment has been turned over. That is what the ORT strategy is all about. The court is seated and you can come and plead your case to King Jesus (Daniel 7). This is why we've seen epidemics stopped, crime decrease and SOULS brought into the kingdom. There are always many reports of increased healings and salvations as God's abiding presence is welcomed into a community. As Christ renders a decision or judgment then he will send a "rod out of Zion;" Psalm 2:7-9 "I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'" Jesus cares so much about each one of our personal issues but He has a passion to. He has a heart for the nations. As we come before Him let us begin to turn our attention to His concern, His passion and His heart. He has a heart for the nations and for the souls of men and women. Preparing to Disciple Disciplers Not only must we prepare for a harvest of souls but we must also prepare to disciple those who come into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not called to just "win souls." We are called to make disciples (Matt 28:19). We've got to be prepared to lay the foundational teaching in each life, help them discover their destiny and calling and then help deploy them into their destiny equipped to teach and train others. While each person has a destiny there is no destiny nor vision that is designed to be accomplished alone. Destiny and vision is always tied to others. So we at Kingdom League are preparing for this harvest of harvesters and discipling disciplers. We want our Lord to receive all that He is worthy of for the price He paid on the cross for us. We are seeking to step into His passion, His love for the world and the establishment of His kingdom. This begins with seeking God passionately, a deep calling to deep. But we find that there is a corporate intimacy that takes us even further. There is tremendous power when we seek the Lord together. This is what Pentecost reminds me of today. This is what I'm praying for. Won't you join me in praying and entering into Christ's passion and His desire? Lord give us your heart for the harvest. Help us prepare to disciple. Lord give us your wisdom! Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise.
