The picture on the left was provided by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) warning the West Coast about the potential for flooding caused by rain.
Personally I find this fascinating. Why? Because I have some knowledge about what Christ has been doing to connect prayer networks, churches and houses of prayer from northern California to Vancouver BC and beyond. I have seen the earth and heavens response to God's presence before when I used Operation Rolling Thunder to mobilize the Church in Washington state to pray 24/7 for 31 days. We saw 230+ churches in 12 counties participate in that historic prayer. Later we saw record rainfall such that FEMA declared 12 counties in Washington a federal disaster due to flooding. Guess which 12 counties? In fact, King County mobilized twice the volume of prayer compared to the other counties and we saw them break every known rainfall record in history. Why? I submit:
.... The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God...
What is interesting about this flood warning is that I am part of a relatively unknown Pacific Northwest Strategic Prayer Council (PNWSPC). It is made up of leaders of prayer networks, houses of prayer, city reaching movements from Washington to northern California. God has begun to use this councils members to help facilitate more strategic connections with the body of Christ beginning with prayer. The FEMA map of the flood warning just so happens to cover the territory we represent.
In the last month I attended two significant meetings. The International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders(ICAL) in Dallas Texas and the City Impact Round Table (CIR) in Portland OR. At ICAL I met with leaders based in Vancouver BC who are leading the move to connect the prayer movement in Canada. At CIR Tom White hosted a meeting of church leaders from state capitals representing Olympia WA, Boise ID, Salem OR and Sacramento CA. At CIR a number of cities in this region also announced their intentions to do the 1Church1Day (previously known as Operation Rolling Thunder) strategy. This flood warning covers the territories where these leaders are located and working. That's an amazing coincidence is it not? Or if I may use a term I've heard Peter Carlson say "a God-incidence."
I've seen God do this in Washington, Florida and other locations as different leaders began to mobilize and connect the body of Christ. I've learned God uses signs like this to mark a message or to encourage us to continue to do what we are doing. Many of those signs and wonders are recorded in my book Operation Rolling Thunder - revised edition. I sincerely believe God wants us to continue to forge ahead for connecting the Church to pray city by city, county by county and state by state using the 1Church1Day strategy because:
Psalm 133: 1-3
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing — Life forevermore. NKJV
"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. NKJV
You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary. NKJV
Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you — The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. NKJV
And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls. NKJV
Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations." NKJV
