![]() We need "strong men" today more than ever before in the body of Christ. Just before he dies King David tells his son Solomon how he can prove himself a man. This gives keen insight into the qualities God looks for in a man. 1 Kings 2:2-3 “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. 3 And keep the charge of the Lord your God:to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; Jesus likens casting out demons unto a man who contest the encroachment of another man on his property. It takes a stronger man to overcome one who is bound by demonic oppression. Jesus said, Luke 11:20-23
But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. 22 But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. 23 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters. We need strong men of God today. That strength comes from God's word abiding in you and this only comes through the regular study of God's word and prayer. This is what makes man strong. The Apostle John said, 1 John 2:14 I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. This all reminds me of a 108 year old man that we heard a few years back at Seattle Revival Center. He attributed his long life to the Lord and some personal habits he practiced. One of his favorite sayings was "meat makes man strong." This reminds me of, Hebrews 5:12-14 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. KJV Join me in praying for God to bring forth "strong men" who have learned God's word well and have their senses training to discern both good and evil. Like · · Share Comments are closed.
