![]() Today is April Fool's Day. So what does the Bible have to say about a fool? Ps 14:1 - they say in their heart, "There is no God...." 1 Sam 26:21 - they err exceedingly Ps 49:10 - they die too Ps 92:6 - they don't understand Prov 7:22 - they end up in prison Prov 10:8 - they will fall (because they won't receive commands) AND the list goes on and on. Prov 10:23 - to do evil is sport to a fool Prov 11:29 - they inherit the wind and will serve the wise Prov 12:15 - they are right in their own eyes and won't listen to others Prov 13:16 - they won't act with knowledge Prov 14:13 - in their mouth is the rod of pride Prov 14:16 - they rage and are self confident in the face of evil Prov 15:5 - they despise their father's instruction Prov 15:7 - they do not disperse knowledge Prov 17:7 - excellent words are not becoming a fool Prov 17:10 - rebuke works with the wise but a 100 blows won't convince a fool Prov 17:12 -in their folly they are as dangerous as a mother bear robbed over her cubs. Prov 17:16 - they have no desire for wisdom. Prov 17:21 - fools embarrass their parents Prov 17:28 - even a fool is considered wise when he holds his peace.... but they won't! Prov 18:2 - they have no delight in understanding but only want to express their heart. Prov 19:1 - the poor who walks in integrity is way better than the twisted way of a fool. Prov 20:3 - they start quarrels Prov 23:9 - don't speak wisdom in their hearing as they will only despise it. Prov 24:7 - wisdom is to lofty for a fool Prov 26:1 - honor is not fitting a fool Prov 26:4 - don't answer a them according to his folly lest you be like them Prov 26:5 - answer them with their folly in mind lest they become wise in their own eyes Prov 26:6 - he who sends a message by a fool is not wise Prov 26:8 - giving honor to a fool is ultimately destructive Prov 26:10 - God loves fools and even cares for them providing employment Prov 26:11 - they repeat their folly like dogs return to their vomit Prov 26:12 - they are wise in their own eyes Prov 27:22 - they stubbornly hold on and cling to the folly of their ways Prov 28:26 - he who trusts in his own heart is a fool. Caution; beware of your feelings! Prov 29:9 - there is no peace with a fool whether in good or bad times Prov 29:11 - they vent all their feelings Prov 29:20 - they are hasty with their words Prov 30:21 - anger and fear are stirred up in the earth when a fool is full of provision and confidence Eccl 2:14 - they walk in darkness Eccl 4:5 - they are lazy, don't work and consume all their provision Eccl 10:3 - the acts of their daily life show all they are fools. Eccl 10:12 - they will be trapped by the words of their mouth Eccl 10:14 - they talk ALOT Isa 35:8 - if they get on the Highway of Holiness they will be safe and won't go astray Matt 5:22 - Jesus warns religious people, be very careful who you call a fool! You may be speaking judgment upon yourself. Go reconcile. Luke 12:16-21 - they think short term and do not consider the eternal consequences of their actions. There is a day when they will give an account of their life and they do not know when that day may come. 1 Cor. 3:18 - passionately pursuing Christ is seen as foolish in the world's eyes. Be a fool for Christ.
