![]() Revelation 5:10 says that God made us priests and kings who are called to reign upon this earth. Psalm 110:2 refers to King Jesus and says that He is to "rule in the midst of your enemies." The Lord will not return until His enemies have been made His footstool. The Church is the body of Christ (Eph 5:23). He is the head and we've been called to be the ones who will make a footstool for our Lord (Ps. 110:1, Mk. 12:36). The question is, where does Christ's rule and reign start? Genesis 4 provides us insight in the context of the first murder ever committed. Genesis 4:7 - If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it." NIV The dominion of Christ begins with the rule and mastery over our own will, emotions, feelings and actions resulting from those emotional thoughts. Emotions, anger, desires, cravings, etc. in and of themselves are not sin. Ephesians 4:26 teaches us that it is possible to have the emotion of anger and yet, not sin. So it is with our other emotions, thoughts and feelings. Having the emotion or thought is not sin, but our actions could lead to a wrong decision that hurts us and others. Jesus said in Matthew 4:17 to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The question is, what is in your hand? Your mind, will and emotions are. Therefore, are you struggling with an emotion, anger, desire, craving, lust, bitterness, envy, etc. then turn to God's word and prayer. Allow our Lord to teach you how to rule and reign in the midst of these enemies. Make a decision and begin to rule like a king. Proverbs 16:32 Comments are closed.
