In Jeremiah 25 we see God use Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon to expel His chosen people because their own choice of actions violated eternal laws which initiated a process which the land vomited the people out. One of the eternal laws I speak of is found in Leviticus 18. In Jeremiah 25 God uses the greed and selfish ambition of an unrighteous king (Nebuchadnezzar) as one of the consequences or judgments for the people's actions which had been displayed over a long period of time. God was so very gracious He had sent many prophets (Jeremiah had ministered up to 23 years at that point) over the years. Jeremiah 25:7 makes it very clear that it was actually the PEOPLE'S judgments (decisions) that brought about the situation such that they were losing their land. We have a tendency to read scripture in a vacuum. What I mean is, we usually don't see the bigger picture and recognize that God is dealing with a nation as well as the leader who at that point in time became the executor of judgment on Israel as a nation. It's important to recognize that while God was dealing with Israel as a nation, He was also dealing with King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 1-5) on a very personal level because of his own sin and pride. Ultimately if God deals with the leader of a nation, the nation will experience either the benefit or consequences of the leader's choices. Now, back to my point. Isaiah 5:20 If you understand Gods word you will understand how God works. There are, I promise you, consequences for all actions (decisions - judgments) whether good or bad. Sometimes God will use a king or a national leader with flaws to judges nation, but rest assured, God will also deal with the sin of that leader as well. God has given us a president to deal with the abomination in our nation. China has become one of the nations sent to bring correction too. The Bible teaches us that these are all the examples and the result of our decisions as a people in this nation as it pertains to issues described in Leviticus 18 and Romans 1. The covenant people, Israel, allowed their thinking to be twisted. They began to DO the very things (sins) that drove the nations out before them. What gave them the victory and the Promised Land now became their downfall as they began to do the same actions which the bible calls sin; they faced the same consequences. The United States of America is no different. We were founded on solid Biblical principles. Our founders recognized that this form of government only works with a people who have a strong moral foundation; an ETERNAL and INTERNAL government if you will. As we (includes leadership and the heart of the people) have rejected these eternal laws we have slowly seen our nation slipping away. We see the signs of a land preparing to vomit a people out. Never the less know that Jeremiah 31:37 describes the cry of our Father's heart for us and our nation. If we will repent He will forgive our iniquities (twisted thought patterns) and remember no more out sins, but He will forgive. Then we will all KNOW the Lord. We will have communion with the Holy Eternal Creator of the Universe who sent His son Jesus to redeem us from our sins and provide the grace needed for us to OVERCOME these things by which we are overcome by. Christian - those who call yourself Christian - if you espouse a position by voting for laws and supporting positions that violate Gods word, then you are part of the problem that invites the consequences of Eternal laws (reference Leviticus 18 & Romans 1). If your opinions do not line up with God's word then you support the iniquitous thinking that invites judgment. Your thinking is twisted. You are part of the problem and not the solution. You have become one of those who call evil good. I pray you repent, that we all repent, change our minds and actions so that we invite blessing, peace, protection and prosperity. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Hebrews 8:8-13 Comments are closed.
