![]() By Tim Taylor: Years ago my wife had a conversation with a person at her work in Eugene Oregon. They were pro-abortion and also an environmentalist. As I recall they were passionate about saving whales, global warming etc., very liberal as well as active in politics. They frequently posted their literature and wore their campaign buttons. A conversation began because Brenda was asked about the black ribbon she wore with a number on it. When she told them it represented the number of children murdered through abortion every week they were greatly offended wanting her to take it off. (I always marveled at the double standard because they frequently wore their campaign buttons for candidates and causes). She posed a scenario wherein they expressed their support for the law that protected whales. She went on to describe another law protecting turtle eggs and then asked if they agreed with that as well. They did! Brenda said something to the effect that, "you believe we ought to protect unborn turtles but you support abortion that kills unborn babies." "Does that make sense to you? Aren't people more important than animals? Their response, "I never thought of it that way." They were blind. They could not see the hypocrisy. It was the picture of these these bumper stickers from OnlineForLife.org and that reminded me of Brenda's story. You know the Bible says in Proverbs 12:10 that the righteous man regards the life of his animal. I believe in being a good steward of our planet and resources, but I think people are a higher priority. It is a sin in our nation that we have laws that devalue life to such a point that almost a million children's lives are destroyed every year while our government protects unborn animals with threats of prison and hefty fines while funding abortion through organizations such as Planned Parenthood. The hypocrisy is amazing and our nation reaps the fruit of murdering a whole generation of children. Lord, I pray for a change of heart and a change of laws in this nation such that the life of the un-born would be more valued than that of an eagle or a turtle. Creation cries .... save the baby humans!
