Deputy Fire Chief Delivers a "Supernatural Report" from a Historic Fire

The Wall of Prayer - 31 churches each taking one day of 24/7 prayer - visit www.1Church1Day.org
I met with Steve Buss, the director of One Hope and the CONECTer stewarding the implementation of 1Church1Day in Lane County OR. They launched 1C1D on May 31 (click here). On June 30th one of the last remaining all wood stadiums in the US burned down in Eugene OR.

Following the pattern they formed councils made up of leaders from their respective spheres of responsibility. Part of the government council is represented by a council specifically for the police and fire department.

Steve shared how that after the fire he had a meeting with the deputy fire chief who is on that council. He reported to Steve how amazed he was at how well the fire fighting went. The teamwork was excellent. He said that the right teams showed up at the right time and made the best decisions that could be made in a timely fashion.

In his 30 years in the fire department he reported he had never seen a fire fought so well with no injuries. There weren't even any minor injuries reported like a pulled muscle. The deputy fire chief said that it was unnatural, in fact, it was supernatural.

Then Steve reminded him how that hundreds of people were praying for them through 1Church1Day. That's when the deputy fire chief had an epiphany as to why things went so well.

Their healthcare council also reported some excellent answers to prayer as well. Click here.

1st Amendment & Conscience Rights Ignored by Judge

The Family Policy Institute reports (click here for the complete article) that the Benton County judge ignored the Constitution's First Amendment and the Washington State Constitution conscience rights clause in favor of non-discrimination. Political correctness trumped federal and state constitutions. Amazing!

FIPW said, "Opponents of conscience rights argue that if she’s allowed not to be part of a same-sex ceremony that “White’s Only” signs will start appearing in store windows throughout the land.
Here’s the difference.

She objected to the service being requested, not the person requesting the service.

It’s a big difference."

Obviously we need to pray but prayer also requires faith in action with wisdom. Like Paul used his Roman citizenship in the book of Acts to make an appeal to Caesar so it is time for us to follow his example and do the same. I urge you to use your rights and citizens and exercise your free speech to make your opinion known to your (our) legislators.  Click here for instructions and links found in the FIPW article.

What shall we pray? Consider and pray in accordance with the following scriptures.

Joseph Backholm our host with FPIW interviews woman ready to turn 100
By Tim Taylor
On December 9th I attended the Life, Family and Freedom Coalition 2015 Pre-Legislative Strategy Session. Joseph Backholm the executive director of the Family Policy Council in Washington hosted this event at Temple Baptist Church in Fircrest WA. Leaders, pastors, ministers, business leaders, and concerned citizens from around the state gathered to discuss and prepare for possible issues or bills that might impact religious freedom, life, marriage and social justice issues.

I was joined by Kara (CONECTer from Church in the Highlands), Maria Lancaster (Embryo Adoption and member of our 1C1D Family Council) and  Sharon Hanek (Research Mom & member of 1C1D's Education Council). We heard from Senators Jan Angel and Mark Miloscia as well as Representatives Matt Shea and Dan Christensen. These legislators highlighted major issues in the upcoming legislative session, shared some of their challenges while at the same time attempting to glean input from the audience.  The major topics were:
  • Changes in the Senate and House in last election (more Republicans but little change)
  • Challenges they faced to to the LACK of involvement by the public in issues (both senators)
  • To address Conscience rights effectively and change laws that violate religious freedoms will require winning the governorship, the house and the senate (Sen. MM).
  • The healthcare system is broke and not working well
  • An attempt will be made to raise taxes
  • Common Core Education and Human Trafficking were also hot topics as was addressing the issue of no fault divorce

The most pressing concern was the court hearing for the Arlene's Flower. The Washington State Attorney General has taken a grandma to court and seeks to not only shut down her business but also take her personal assets virtually bankrupting her.  They (Family Policy Council of WA ST) is planning to encourage at least 500 Christians to show up at the courthouse in Tri-Cities on December 19th. The Constitution and Conscience Rights are at stake.

Elections & the Power of Strategic Continual Prayer

By Tim Taylor: Dr. Jason Hubbard (Light of the World Prayer Center) has used the Operation Rolling Thunder (ORT) strategy I authored in 2005 to connect churches to pray and form strategic councils representing the 7 spheres of society in Whatcom County.  One of those councils is a government council. It is made up of Christians who serve in some area of government.  Earlier today he texted me the following testimony.

All 7 of our Spirit filled believers go elected. 5 of them are part of our gov team, :) prayed for them by name for 2 months with 30 churches and at pc (pe = prayer center)!  Glory!

Since Jason and the LOWPC team in Whatcom County began using this strategy they've seen over 8 years of growing results that speak to transformation.  This is the 2nd election in which they've seen the candidates they prayed for all elected. What are the lesson's learned?

What does "Gun Violence" have in common with "Planned Parenthood?"

PictureTim Taylor, an apostle
There are two initiatives on the ballot in Washington State regarding firearms. I've noted that "gun violence" has become a favorite term used by the media and opponents of guns. I marvel at what is going on and the hypocrisy I see regarding the issue.

First, guns are an inanimate object. They can't do anything on their own. They sit there and do nothing just like a knife, a fork or a spoon can do nothing on their own as well. People are the perpetrators of violence not guns, knives, cars etc. Violence or murder is a heart and sin issue.

Blaming guns for violence is like blaming the rock that Cain used to kill Able.

Is the issue really about protecting people?  Let's see if these numbers shed any light. There were about 11,000 homicides using guns in 2010 in the US. Over 31,000 died through vehicular homicide and in a recent article I saw 400,000+ died of obesity. I suppose that should be called fork and spoon violence. According this this recent NBC article they attribute 18% of the deaths in America to obesity click here.
