![]() The Family Policy Institute reports (click here for the complete article) that the Benton County judge ignored the Constitution's First Amendment and the Washington State Constitution conscience rights clause in favor of non-discrimination. Political correctness trumped federal and state constitutions. Amazing! FIPW said, "Opponents of conscience rights argue that if she’s allowed not to be part of a same-sex ceremony that “White’s Only” signs will start appearing in store windows throughout the land. Here’s the difference. She objected to the service being requested, not the person requesting the service. It’s a big difference." Obviously we need to pray but prayer also requires faith in action with wisdom. Like Paul used his Roman citizenship in the book of Acts to make an appeal to Caesar so it is time for us to follow his example and do the same. I urge you to use your rights and citizens and exercise your free speech to make your opinion known to your (our) legislators. Click here for instructions and links found in the FIPW article. What shall we pray? Consider and pray in accordance with the following scriptures.
![]() By Tim Taylor: Dr. Jason Hubbard (Light of the World Prayer Center) has used the Operation Rolling Thunder (ORT) strategy I authored in 2005 to connect churches to pray and form strategic councils representing the 7 spheres of society in Whatcom County. One of those councils is a government council. It is made up of Christians who serve in some area of government. Earlier today he texted me the following testimony. All 7 of our Spirit filled believers go elected. 5 of them are part of our gov team, :) prayed for them by name for 2 months with 30 churches and at pc (pe = prayer center)! Glory! Since Jason and the LOWPC team in Whatcom County began using this strategy they've seen over 8 years of growing results that speak to transformation. This is the 2nd election in which they've seen the candidates they prayed for all elected. What are the lesson's learned? ![]() There are two initiatives on the ballot in Washington State regarding firearms. I've noted that "gun violence" has become a favorite term used by the media and opponents of guns. I marvel at what is going on and the hypocrisy I see regarding the issue. First, guns are an inanimate object. They can't do anything on their own. They sit there and do nothing just like a knife, a fork or a spoon can do nothing on their own as well. People are the perpetrators of violence not guns, knives, cars etc. Violence or murder is a heart and sin issue. Blaming guns for violence is like blaming the rock that Cain used to kill Able. Is the issue really about protecting people? Let's see if these numbers shed any light. There were about 11,000 homicides using guns in 2010 in the US. Over 31,000 died through vehicular homicide and in a recent article I saw 400,000+ died of obesity. I suppose that should be called fork and spoon violence. According this this recent NBC article they attribute 18% of the deaths in America to obesity click here. |
