The Family Policy Institute reports (click here for the complete article) that the Benton County judge ignored the Constitution's First Amendment and the Washington State Constitution conscience rights clause in favor of non-discrimination. Political correctness trumped federal and state constitutions. Amazing!
FIPW said, "Opponents of conscience rights argue that if she’s allowed not to be part of a same-sex ceremony that “White’s Only” signs will start appearing in store windows throughout the land.
Here’s the difference.
She objected to the service being requested, not the person requesting the service.
It’s a big difference."
Obviously we need to pray but prayer also requires faith in action with wisdom. Like Paul used his Roman citizenship in the book of Acts to make an appeal to Caesar so it is time for us to follow his example and do the same. I urge you to use your rights and citizens and exercise your free speech to make your opinion known to your (our) legislators. Click here for instructions and links found in the FIPW article.
What shall we pray? Consider and pray in accordance with the following scriptures.
There are two issues that require two approaches. First, there is the law. That must be changed and speaking to that issue will require a distinct strategy that will use a tone often different than when speaking to a person bound in sin. In prayer we are addressing demonic spirits behind this lawlessness being presented that is corrupting eternal truth. Second, there are individuals who are bound in sin and need to be delivered. Their thinking is twisted and they need Jesus and the salvation He can only provide. This requires a different tone and strategy mixed with compassion.
The focus of this prayer is dealing with the demonic spirits and strategies that have blinded their eyes in this case.
20 Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You? 21 They gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood. 22 But the Lord has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge. 23 He has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The Lord our God shall cut them off. NKJV
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. NKJV
1 Sam 24:15
15 Therefore let the Lord be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand."
Mic 6:1 God Pleads with Israel
6 Hear now what the Lord says: "Arise, plead your case before the mountains, And let the hills hear your voice. NKJV
Therefore thus says the Lord: "Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry. NKJV
2 Cor 4:2-6
2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. NKJV
We are praying that this decision be overturned and righteousness and justice be established on behalf of Arlene's Flowers.
What does the Bible say? See:
1 Corinthians 6:9,. 1 Timothy 1:10, Romans 1:18-32, Judges 19:22, Deuteronomy 23:17, 1 Kings 14:24, 1 Kings 15:12, Job 36:14. Here are a couple of sections of scripture that describes an eternal spiritual law that works like gravity. These scriptures describe acts that will cause a land to expel its people because their acts defile it: Leviticus 18 and Leviticus 20.
Attitude toward people: John 3:16, Ephesians 4:15, Galatians 6:1, Jude 23, 1 John 4:10-11, Ephesians 5:2, Amos 5:15, Ecclesiastes 3:8, Luke 6:27
