![]() By Tim Taylor November 9, 2022 - Were you disappointed by the midterm election? I was. Did I prophesy a red wave? No! Did I pray, contend, intercede and work for one, oh yes. We not only prayed every Thursday for this nation and not only do I host a state gathering for leaders each month, but we gave of our monies and personally interacted with courageous kingdom-minded leaders who ran for office. So yes, we are engaged in this spiritual war and I am not happy with the results. Click here more thoughts and insight on Never Quit, Never Surrender, Never Give Up on Rumble. Reports tell us the turnout was less than the 2018 midterms. When turnout is low, small groups can make an even greater impact. In times past stats tell us that only about 50% of those who call themselves Christian even participate in the electoral process. It's clear, many who call themselves Christian abdicated their responsibility and privilege they have to vote. Jesus says, repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The question was, what was in your hand? In this nation, each individual is affored the right to help choose those who'll serve in office as well as laws and policies. What a wasted opportunity to be salt and light in the governmental realm. Just moments ago my wife says to me, don't people care that innocent children are being murdered in the womb? Don't they care about the moral confusion they are teaching in our schools? Don't they care about the rights they are giving up? It does look like the house was won. So praise God for that. They have the power of the purse and can potentially help reign in some of the most aggregious laws and policies. We just missed a tremendous opportunity.
We had hoped for a great victory but instead it was a marginal one. A victory but a small one. How Does a Warrior Respond? When I say warrior, you understand I mean a spiritual warrior right? I don't mean just a prayer warrior, I mean a spiritual warrior who'll be bold and courageous enough to engage in the culture war. How does a kingdom warrior respond. I submit to you Micah 7:8-11.... click here. So What is Next? Pro-tips!
It reminds me a little of Shakespear's St Crispin's Day speech. Here's an excerpt ( "This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be rememberèd-- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day." So how will heaven record that you stood? Are you satisfied? The beauty is, we have the marvelous ability to repent and regardless of how we stood, we can, from this day forward choose to stand. How? Ephesians 6:10-18 0 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
